We are planning toward a live conference,
(With an online back up plan, of course)
Thank you for participating in the 2020 Conference!
20/20: Honoring the Past & Looking Toward the Future
Our 20th Anniversary
Thursday, Sept. 3rd & Friday, Sept. 4th, 2020
Due to COVID and the hotel not being able to safely accommodate everyone who has registered for our 2020 IMHCA Conference we are going to be holding a live virtual conference this year on September 3rd and 4th, 2020. The schedule will remain the same and we will be using WHOVA/Zoom to host the conference so you can enjoy it from wherever you are safely.
In order to participate in the conference fully, you will need to be prepared to utilize two programs: Zoom and WHOVA.
The conference sessions will be hosted through Zoom, but WHOVA is where you will find all the information about the conference and links to the Zoom platform when needed, and some sessions will take place within the WHOVA platform. You don’t have to understand all this at the moment! Just follow the instructions below, and then login to WHOVA the day of the conference and it will all make sense!
The best way to use Zoom is to make sure you have the App downloaded in advance on whatever computer you want to use to participate in the conference. You can download the zoom app here: https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting (Zoom is also accessible through an internet browser, but sometimes it is glitchy so the app is preferred. If you need to use a browser, Chrome works best).
WHOVA offers a smartphone and tablet application which you can download here:
WHOVA also can be accessed through your regular internet browser on your laptop or desktop computer (this is how most of you will probably access it during the conference, unless you want to hold your phone for hours on end). To use WHOVA in this way, you don’t have to download any program, so even if you have a work computer and picky IT people, you can still access the conference from your work computer as long as you can use the internet : ) Just go to this website:
This will be an interactive conference so you will be able to ask questions and interact with the speakers during the conference. We also are expecting many of our exhibitors and sponsors to still participate and you will be able to interact with them as well. Due to us not being able to hold the conference in person this year we will be refunding $50 to every person who has registered before August when the regular price was reduced. You can expect this refund in the next 30 days. If you are no longer able to attend, or do not wish to participate in the online conference, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for a full refund by August 14, 2020. [When you contact email@example.com if you would like a refund, please forward your transaction or reciept from paypal to speed up the process and ensure accuracy.] If you would still like to register for the conference and haven’t done so yet you can still register on our website at imhca.net. If you have any questions please contact Christy Johnston at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
BONUS: Because we are now planning the conference for September, you are allowed to use the CEU’s from the conference to count for the year 2020 or 2021. Essentially, the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science allows 25 months to complete the required CEU’s, and September can count for this year or next. See the IBBS rules here: https://www.legis.iowa.gov/docs/ACO/chapter/645.32.pdf
