Conference Volunteers Needed

Volunteer and receive reduced rate admission to the 2025 IMHCA Conference if your application is accepted.

Annually IMHCA is in need of a limited number of volunteers in person for the 2025 IMHCA Conference from May 7th – May 9th at the West Des Moines Sheraton. Applicaitons will be reviewed through the due date of February 10th, 2025. Please let us know if you have any questions by contacting our conference chair, [email protected].

Schedule

May 7th: 5-8pmEvening Virtual Sessions (two tracks to choose from)
May 8th: 6am – 5pmSet up starts at 6:00am. Sessions will go through 4:45pm. We will have a networking event from 5pm – 8pm.
May 8th: 4:45pm – 8pmAwards Ceremony
May 9th: 7am – 5pmSet up at 7:00am. Sessions will go through 4:15pm. Clean-up will be from 5pm to 6pm.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Attending a training session (or two) prior to the event to orient yourself to the assigned tasks.
  • Assistance with check-in and check-out for attendees.
  • Operating the IMHCA booth (registration) throughout the day.
  • Introduction of speakers and moderator duties (as needed) in assigned sessions.
  • General assistance for attendees, speakers, vendors, and exhibitors as needed.
  • Volunteers will need to be comfortable with Zoom and general technology. They will need to have basic troubleshooting skills for computer audio and video feeds to keep sessions running smoothly for virtual attendees.
  • Volunteers may also be assigned to support the planning committee at the Awards Ceremony.
  • CEs will be awarded for sessions you fully attend (may be limited based on responsibilities assigned).
  • Preference for volunteer selection goes to current IMHCA members and volunteers available all day May 9th and 10th. We may not need volunteers for the virtual sessions on May 8th – this is being evaluated – but you would still be able to register to attend these sessions.

Benefits include:

  • Reduced rate for the conference ($50, but CEs may be limited based on need for volunteers outside of sessions).
  • Breakfast and Lunch provided both days.
  • Ability to attend sessions as scheduled (with some exceptions).
  • Building connections with IMHCA and other professionals across the state.

    The window for accepting volunteer requests closes on February 10, 2025. Positions will be filled as determined by the conference planning committee.
