Mental Health Day on the Hill

Save the date for April 2, 2025 from 12 PM – 4 PM. We will be headding to the captiol for the second time this year as a group to strategically connect with legislators to promote our legislative agenda. We will be there with wonderful organizaitons like NAMI Iowa, Mindspring Mental Halth, CAMI4Kids, and many others. Please join us. See more on the event page. 

IMHCA Day on the Hill

At our annual Day on the Hill, IMHCA strategically connects with legislators to promote our legislative agenda. We ask legislators for what we need in the field to do our best work and promote growth in the field. Please consider joining us to advocate, work as a grassroots organization, and build confidence in your ability to communicate with your legislators. We can’t wait to work with you! Register here.

Schedule

7:30 AM – Legislative Breakfast in the Legislative Dining room (G15 Ground Floor). Meet legislators and enjoy a light breakfast.

9:00 AM – Bill Watch List Review and plan for effective conversations and strategy to address our legislative agenda.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Advocacy. Meet with Legislators in the Rotunda.

IMHCA Joins NAMI Walks

IMHCA is walking with NAMI Walks Iowa to help them raise funds for programming and all the work they do to make sure those with lived experience have a voice. The families and members of NAMI Iowa are there to help! They offer understanding to anyone concerned about mental illnesses and the treatment of mental illness.

IMHCA Trivia – October 10th, 2024 at MOXIE

Join us for an evening of fun and insight at our Mental Health Trivia Night! 🌟💡 Whether you’re a trivia aficionado or just passionate about mental health, this is your chance to test your knowledge and learn something new!
Location: Moxie Kitchen and Events 4119 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311. Doors open at 6pm. Trivia begins at 6:30pm. Trivia Teams of Four. 10 rounds of general trivia with 10 questions per round. Dinner included. Cash bar available. Oopsies and double down points are available for an additional cost. Awards for best team name and best dressed table.

IMHCA Annual Conference

May 9th – 10th. Options of virtual and in-person attendance are available. This Conference has up to 15 CE hours if all sessions are attended. IMHCA issues certificates of attendance, publishes objectives of the courses, and uses experts in the field. These standards make it possible for licensed mental health professionals in Iowa to receive CEs based on state licensure standards (LMHC, LMFT, and LISW). IMHCA has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2060. IMHCA is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.
