About Catholic Charities
At Catholic Charities, you will have the privilege of working alongside some of the best counselors you will meet, providing person-centered, compassionate care throughout Northeast Iowa. Counseling is hard work, but it’s important work, bringing hope and healing to those struggling with life or with a mental illness. At Catholic Charities, we do this work because we believe in the dignity of all human beings and our right as human beings to have agency over our own lives, a right to participate in society and healthy relationships, and to reach out and receive help before a struggle becomes a crisis. For every one person we touch in the counseling room, the reach to their family, friends, and community is exponentially greater. Catholic Charities provides services to anyone, regardless of faith or ability to pay.
Having the support of other counselors is critical to the work we do, and that is something that we provide at Catholic Charities. Whether this is through individual supervision with a supervisor, peer consultation with colleagues, professional development, retreat days, and work that values self-care and taking a lunch break every day, Catholic Charities values its employees. We offer generous PTO and sick time that we want you to use, whether for yourself or to support a loved one. Catholic Charities also handles the heavy administrative lifting that is part of counseling, including administrative support for scheduling appointments, a billing specialist on staff, and a Clinical Director who handles all credentialing. Being a therapist at Catholic Charities is the best of both worlds: the ability to create a schedule that works for you and your clients, while also enjoying the support and camaraderie that comes from working with a group of like-minded individuals. Counseling clients benefit from internal referrals to other supports within the agency. They can also integrate their faith into the therapy process. We value individual therapists, their mental health, and their work-life balance while showing each client the dignity and respect they deserve.
