    The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team Clinician is a licensed mental health professional delivering community-based therapy services to participants of the ACT program. The interventions of the community team are designed to respond to the strengths and needs of individuals participating in the ACT program diagnosed with a servere and persistent mental illness. The responsibilities of the team clinician include; assessment of individuals referred for therapy and the provision of clinical direction for services planning and treatment goals, conducting individual therapy, utilizing member in vivo experiences to maximize learning and use of skills and developed insights, participation in team and individual case management activities, facilitation of treatment team meetings, discharge planning.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Conduct intake assessments including recommendations for treatment
  • Provide individual, group and family therapies to people with mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Maintain active caseload including engaging individuals in ongoing treatment.
  • Maintain tracking system for treatment plans, and other required documents to meet program funder guidelines and program goals.
  • Participate in clinical group meetings regarding ongoing treatment goals, progress and discharge as needed.
  • Enter documentation into electronic medical records in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Provide supervision to non-licensed therapists, counselors and other staff as needed to support state requirements for licensing.
    Required Experience: 3 years experience preferred

    Required Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field

    Required Qualifications: Provisional licensure accepted; full licensure as LMHC, LISW, or LMFT preferred.

    Program Summary: The RHD ACT program supports participants residing in and around Waterloo. This position will also support the operation of the program on a rotating on-call, evening, and weekend schedule. The ACT Mental Health Clinician is a mobile staff position dedicated to at least 85% of the work time to direct community-based work with clients in their home or community-based settings.
