April 2025 Counseling Awareness Month – Toolkit

Hello and Welcome to the 2025 Counseling Awareness Toolkit for the month of April. We are so excited to have you! Some important dates and information follow.

Important Dates:

April 2nd is Autism Awareness Day. Autism Speaks has some amazing resources. What is autism? | Autism Speaks

April 4th is the GLSEN Day of (NO) Silence. This started in the mid 90’s by two college students, Day of Silence was a nationally-recognized demonstration where LGBTQ+ students and allies all around the country protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in schools. Every April, students would go through the school day without speaking, ending the day with Breaking the Silence rallies to bring attention to ways their schools and communities can become more inclusive. April 11th is Teal Day. A day to celebrate all counselors and the services they provide. Also a day to take care of a counselor and recognize self-care for those who practice. Wear your teal with us.
