ATTENTION: IMHCA Foundation update!!!

The Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association Foundation and Ramona Wink are pleased to announce the launching dates and times of the first program of “Mind If We Talk”. “Mind If We Talk” is a 30 minute television program designed to provide education about mental health issues and information about services that are available.

“Mind If We Talk” can be seen statewide in Iowa on Mediacom’s local channel, MC22, reaching over 653,000 households with each airing.
The first program of “Mind If We Talk” will air on the following dates/times:
Tuesdays, August 13th and 20th at 6 p.m.
Fridays, August 16th and 23rd at 7 p.m.
Sundays, August 18th and 25th at 9 a.m.
“Mind If We Talk” will also be available through Mediacom’s On Demand library and by going to www.imhca.net after the show has aired.

Featured in this first program of “Mind If We Talk” are the following segments:
*The opioid crisis- Broadlawns Medical Center
*Psychiatric urgent care- Broadlawns Medical Center
*EMDR therapy- Mosaic Family Counseling

The 7th Annual Par for the Course Charity Classic took place last week on August 3rd, 2019. The event brought out 44 golfers and 10 volunteers. This event raised more than $4,500 dollars and we are so grateful. The IMHCA foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit that promotes educational opportunities to professionals and the community & represents the interests of the mental health profession. This foundation is working toward creating state–wide community educational opportunities. This charity golf classic serves as a fundraiser for scholarships, mental health education, & awareness for the upcoming year. Thank you to our Tournament Sponsors (New Life Counseling and Coaching and St. Gregory Recovery Center); Ball Sponsor (Mosaic Family Counseling); and all of our Hole Sponsors (The DSM Homes Team, Robert Sapp, New Beginnings Counseling Services, Joby Holcomb, LMHC, CADC, New Heights Counseling Resources, and Heather Knittle with Re/Max). Our winning team was John Buckton, Luke Hird, and Kenny Basset. Everyone had a lot of fun. At our lunch following the tournament. We were able to premier the promotional video for “Mind if we Talk,” and announced the launching of the show.
