This week marked the week prior to the legislative funnel deadline. This means a bill has to pass a committee in one chamber to remain alive. IMHCA will provide a full summary of all bills we are tracking next week. But, the good news is that our top two priorities are safe. HF 90 and SF 127 would grant Iowa’s entry into the counseling compact. These bills have passed their respective chamber’s Health and Human Services Committees and are “funnel proof”. In addition, HF 93 which bans noncompete clauses for mental health providers has passed the House (unanimously) and will be taken up by the Senate Health and Human Services Committee after the first funnel deadline.
