We have had a very successful quarter of events from welcoming new board members with a board retreat that was a DSM Airbnb getaway (Hot tub included!), walking with NAMI walks, a mental health Tailgate at Iowa State University, and a World Mental Health Day Trivia Night.
The IMHCA board retreat was a great way to strategic plan for the year while getting to know board members and enjoying the oasis in the city. IMHCA board members traveled from far and wide for this retreat – some from 3 hours away!
The NAMI Walk is something that board members have wanted to organize a team for the past couple of years. We made it happen and fundraised. We didn’t meet our full goal, but raised over $550. The fundraising is still open through October 28th. NAMI is so close to their overall goal of $200,000. Help them reach it!

Board Members were thrilled to set up this mental health day with football in mind. We hope to do this more in the future. We have your tailgating gear in our store now!
TRIVIA NIGHT – Our first ever trivia night was a huge success thanks to our Networking and Communications committee and Moxie Kitchen + Events in Des Moines. We packed the house with 7 teams and 5 volunteers to run the show.
