Open IMHCA Board Positions

Nominations are now being accepted for members in good standing for the following IMHCA Board positions! Please see below for information about how to apply and descriptions of open positions.
If you are interested or wanting to nominate someone please provide a brief (1-2 paragraph) write up about yourself/the person being nominated that includes a statement about fit for the position of interest. Applications and nominations can be completed at https://imhca.net/about/board-members/ through the link under the open position. A résumé will be required to be attached as well. The current open positions are elected by IMHCA membership, and positions are voted on by all current IMHCA members by secret ballot.
The voting process begins June 25, 2018 and ends July 9, 2018.
President Elect: The President-Elect performs the duties as directed by the Board of Directors and/or the President, and may perform the duties of the President in the absence or incapacity of the President. During the President Elect’s one-year term the President Elect is mentored to assume the Presidency by the President. The President-Elect assumes the Presidency after one year. President presides over all meetings of the Association, and chairs all meetings of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. The President appoints the chair and members of all committees. The president also serves as IMHCA’s representative to the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). The Presidency is a two-year term. The President then assumes the position of Past-President for a one-year term. The Past-President continues to mentor the President as needed and performs the duties of the previous Past-President.
Treasurer: This is a two-year term. The Treasurer is responsible for all funds of the Association and other properties belonging to the Association. The Treasurer ensures compliance with IRS501c3 standards for the foundation and ensures compliance for IMHCA as a 501c(6). The Treasurer assures the receipt and expenditure of funds in accordance with the directives established by the Board of Directors. The treasurer will submit quarterly reports, an annual budget, and an annual report all for publication. The Treasurer sits the executive committee, conference committee, and strategic planning committee. The Treasurer serves a two-year term and is eligible for appointment by the President to a second two-year term. Following the second term, the member can pursue election for a third two-year term as Treasurer after a break of two years.
Member-At-Large: This is a two-year term. The Member-At-Large is a full voting member of the Board who represents the overall membership of the Association. The Member-At-Large may assume various responsibilities for the Board as directed by the President.
