IMHCA Foundation Scholarship Application 2020

The IMHCA Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to educating the public about mental health, decreasing the stigma of mental health, and supporting those in the field of mental health. The foundation has been hard at work this year fund raising. They are working to advance the mental health profession by assisting those pursuing graduate school in the field of mental health!

Academic scholarships are awarded annually to a limited number of IMHCA members. In 2020, the IMHCA Foundation Board will select three $1000 academic scholarships to be awarded to a graduate student member of IMHCA. The winners will be welcomed to the 2020 annual conference on Sept. 3-4. They will be awarded in a ceremony on the first day of the conference at lunch. The deadline for applications is August 15, 2020.

Requirements for the Academic Scholarship:

  • Must be a current member of IMHCA.
  • Complete application by the appropriate date (August 15, 2020).
  • Provide one letter of recommendation from a graduate level professor within your academic program.
  • Include a letter of interest (written by the student) including a description of future career goals and what you feel that you will gain from being a part of a professional organization, particularly the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association. Please also include activities or accomplishments in the mental health field.
